Was the previous labour government wise in not signing the Schengen Treaty ? it is because?

the conservatives joined the EU that the uk must adhere to silly rules that do more harm than good. now they are in government, will the tories sign the Schengen Treaty. if immigration is such a problem, rather than spin, what can the tories actually do to solve a problem they created, will they privatise it and pass the buck
