English Scottish Welsh and Irish cultural differences?

When people compare Ireland to the UK (at least for Americans) they, more often than not, immediately compare only the Irish to the English and forget about the other cultures in the UK. So, could you distinguish between the four (cultures, people, day to day life, etc)?
