Trying to remember name of novel?

I don't remember too much, but in the book I think it was a mouse or rat living in a family dictated by an owl, who is the villain, and the mouse goes on a journey through the woods to see a salt lick and the owl is trying to stop the mouse. I also remember that the family of mice/rats/whatever was afraid of porcupines which they believed shot their quills at mice and ate them, and the mouse actually meets a porcupine and learns that they aren't as bad as the mice/rats thought.
