How do I tell if the hair on my legs is long enough to wax?

I usually have to shave my legs every day if I want them to be really smooth. Its not like they're super hairy the next day, just not smooth anymore, like porcupine legs. I have Veet ready-to-use- wax strips and I shaved on tuesday and now its friday, so will it be effective now?
